Chanel's Chic, Pretty and Slightly Crazy Spring Pieces

4:30 PM

We love everything about Chanel.  The tweed, the chic, boxy silhouettes, the classy sex appeal.  So by extension, we love Karl Lagerfeld as the head designer and creative director of the brand.  He's a little crazy, a little kooky and it totally works - the attitude has kept the label a huge influence in everything fashion and helped make a it a household name.  The Spring 2014 Ready to Wear Collection is a nod to chic, ladylike style that is also a little crazy.

The 89 look collection has a little bit of everything and makes some obvious transitions throughout the show starting with classic tweed outfits then moving on to separates worthy of a beach-view getaway and then moving into some decidedly odd, acid, denim on denim looks that were admittedly not our favorite.  The show moved on to cocktail appropriate dresses, fluttery jackets and finally ended with paintbrush-stroke inspired print garments that looked appropriately artist ready.  We were beyond excited to see pops of bright pink, turquoise and even some oranges in there as well as some the printed pieces.

With such varied styles, Chanel was smart to keep the hairstyles, (slightly out there) makeup and shoes (boots that look like Mary-Janes with socks) the same for each look but be on the lookout for the fabulous boxy bags in a myriad of colors.  Look for a post soon about Chanel's fabulous Spring Campaign featuring shorts, fun structured bags, bows in the models' hair and tiny little fringed mini-skirts with booties.

Take a look at our favorite looks from Chanel's Spring 2014 Runway Show and take a little a lot of inspiration when you go shopping for wardrobe updates!
