In Giambattista Valli's own words, his girl has a "spontaneous attitude" and it becomes quite obvious that a fun and fresh look was exactly what he was going for. Although I wasn't initially blown away, as the show went on you felt more and more that the looks were young and original. And extravagant. The dresses all stemmed from a fitted mini-skirt base and went from there - everything from simple mini dresses to beautifully draped skirts and cropped tops. It's not just the skirts that keep it fun; the textures and sculptural elements paired with the thick black eyeliner keep things fresh and interesting. Although some of the looks sent down the runway seemed to be in need of some tailoring to keep the fit spot on overall this was a beautiful collection that was one of the more daring.
