When we saw last year that Maleficent (the remake of the Disney classic Sleeping Beauty) was coming out in 2014 we were excited. We were even more excited when we saw that it was none other than Angelina Jolie playing the title roll. But then we happened to be flipping through an issue of Elle Magazine earlier this week and stumbled across the little tidbit that Elle Fanning is playing Princess Aurora. Yes, that's Dakota Fanning's not-so-baby sister. Fancy that. We're even more excited.
Although we haven't see the animated version in years, we can't pass up a beautiful live-action princess. Which brings us to another point that Elle so graciously pointed out for us: designer Stella McCartney has teamed up with Jolie and Disney to create a line to bring the movie to life all the time: a Maleficent-inspired clothing line for kids. 1. We didn't realize that Stella McCartney even did kids clothes (she does! And they're super cute too!) and 2. Do any of the pieces come in adult sizes? Seriously, the dragon tee is adorable and we want it...do you think we could get away with the largest kid size they have?
The collection will come in 8 styles and range from shoes to dresses to tops. Prices range from $70 to $175 and a portion of the sales will go to SOS Children's Villages that helps make homes for kids in need. The line will be available the end of April and the movie will be in theaters May 30th and you can be we will be checking out both.
