As much as we love to watch Chanel runway shows, we really really love to see the looks off the runway on red carpets or street style. Imagine our delight when we saw 26 year old, blonde bombshell Blake Lively at the Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of 'Mr. Turner' in one of our favorite looks from the Chanel Spring/Summer 2014 Couture Collection.
As far as we're concerned, Blake Lively takes the award for Best Dressed at the Cannes Film Festival in this beautiful Chanel Couture gown. |
A beautiful look on the runway, this tea-length gown is even more stunning on the red carpet. Like something out of a magic, fairytale world, the palest colors of the rainbow are made even more elegant with tulle, beading and organza.

We were a huge fan of the cinched in illusion-waist that has been present on the Chanel Couture runway for the last 2 shows and it translates incredibly well on Blake Lively. Our main complain with both looks? The shoes - while the couture sneakers were part of the show's charm it wasn't exactly our favorite footwear, and we were slightly disappointed with Blake's white pumps - our choice would have been something strappy or sheer to compliment the beautiful dress. All in all though, we're huge fans of this gown on Blake with the return of old Hollywood glamor.
We adore Blake's choice of Couture! Playing up her beautiful figure in this tea-length, embellished Chanel Couture gown, she looks every bit the movie star. |
What do you think of Blake's Chanel interpretation?
Thank you to Chanel, US Magazine and The Fashion Magazine for these gorgeous photos.
