In Savannah, Saint Patrick's Day is definitely a big deal. A really big deal. They shut stores down like it's a federal holiday unless you serve beer, then you're open later than normal at start serving a full bar at 7am (not kidding). It's basically a huge four day party - somewhere around 3 million people flock to party it up! All you have to do to see some crazy bold fashion(?) is to drop downtown at some point during that weekend and you're sure to see things you never even would have thought of. And it's not all insane, we saw plenty of pretty green outfits too.
