We couldn't be happier with last night's 86th Academy Awards (well okay, actually being there would have made us ecstatic but other that that...). From Lupita's acceptance speech, "no matter where you're from your dreams are valid" to Ellen's epic selfie that broke Twitter to the leading men of Dallas Buyers club having a great night of winning to the literal jump for joy when 12 Years a Slave won Best Picture, it was a night of many first-time winners and their enthusiasm was infectious. Congratulations to all the winners and the nominees!
The fashion didn't disappoint either - leading ladies put their best foot forward and donned some amazing gowns. Major trends included nude chiffon and tulle covered in glittery jewels and beading and at the opposite end of the spectrum dark and mysterious gowns that carried a bit of an edge. | Lupita Nyong'o finished her stylish debut on the red carpets in an ethereal powder-blue custom Prada gown that was perfect to accept her first Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her work in 12 Years a Slave. The color is divine, especially against her chocolate skin, and while it isn't the most flattering on her chest, there is no doubt that it is a beautiful dress. |

| Always the star-power couple, Brad Pitt in Tom Ford, and Angelina Jolie in Elie Saab, were definitely one of the best dressed couples of the night. It was a special evening for both of them with Brad Pitt having produced and small roll in Best Picture winner, 12 Years a Slave while Angelina Jolie was presented with an honorary Oscar and the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her efforts worldwide with UNICEF. |

| After taking home an Oscar last year, Anne Hathaway returned as a presenter in this black Gucci gown with a dramatically sparkly chest piece. Though the silhouette is quite reminiscent of the baby-pink halter she wore last year, we prefer this darker, more edgy version by far. |

| First and foremost, Kerry Washington's hair and makeup are fabulous. Perfect actually; she's glowing and we aren't sure if that's her fantastic makeup artist or the pregnancy. But is Jason Wu dress just isn't our favorite - we get that it's difficult to dress a baby bump, especially when it gets bigger, but we can't help but think of really expensive sheets whenever we look at this gown. It's not that it's bad (and it actually flows quite well when she walks) it's just a little underwhelming. |

| Kate Hudson is amazing - especially in this Atelier Versace concoction. With the stunning beauty of a wedding dress without actually looking like she's walking down the aisle, this crisp white, beaded gown has just the right amount of drama when the plunging neckline is combined with the cape. |
