Haute Couture, a term that is actually protected by law and only applies to a few fashion houses in the entire world, create some of the most impressive garments on the planet. These exclusive, custom fitted clothes that are constructed by hand without any regard for budget aren't necessarily designed to sell, they're more intended to turn the runway into an art exhibit. Alexander McQueen, Marchesa, Dior...these designers create garments that take hours upon hours to design and actually bring to life that are stunning and take your breathe away at first look.
Though these gowns may not be the most appropriate for everyday life they are certainly gorgeous to look at and are worthy of being out on display. A time when art and fashion literally collide? These gowns are gorgeous. They're beautiful. And you would love to wear them wouldn't you? They move us and we would be willing to bet they move you too. So should fashion be considered art?
