Chanel gives your skin a chance to reset with a trio of products that are meant to be used in the mornings, evenings and weekends with ingredients that are proven to have lasting results. |
We're up early. Like hours before the sun comes up early. We run at least 50 miles a week, do CrossFit and play sports. We work 40 hour weeks, in addition to modeling for photoshoots and walking in runway shows, freelancing as a makeup artist and volunteering as a photographer to cover events that are sometimes very late at night or last all day. In our downtime we're learning to speak French, we create original oil paintings, design clothing and write The Polka Dotted Truth. To say we're a little busy might be a bit of an understatement. So when we were working an event at Chanel and the new Resynchronizing Skincare Trio arrived we had to see what it was all about. This little tidbit on Chanel's website certainly resonated with us:
"In an ideal world, your skin’s functions would perform in perfect balance. However, daily life, lack of sleep, travel and hectic schedules disrupt skin’s natural rhythms, causing signs of dullness, fatigue and stress to appear. The complexion can appear tired, with an uneven texture.
To restore the complexion to its optimal state, Chanel created three skincare products, customized to your weekly needs. Together, the products help to resynchronize skin’s natural rhythms throughout the day, the night and the weekend for a perfectly balanced complexion - even-textured, smooth, supple and beautiful."

We've been using Chanel's skincare for a while now ands the difference is visible. Although the pricetag is a little steep, it's completely worth it - gentle, removes makeup, hydrates your skin while leaving it looking brighter and overall more luminous. We're thrilled. So when we saw Chanel's Resynchronizing Skincare trio that has more active ingredients that give lasting results we couldn't wait to try it. We scored samples of Le Jour, La Nuit and Le Weekend and while we have our favorites, the overall effect is nothing short of amazing.
Le Jour de Chanel, Reactivating Skincare, $85
Formulated with Jasmine to speed cell turnover and Salicylic Acid to exfoliate, Le Jour is used in the mornings before moisturizer. |
Meant to be used in the morning before you apply moisturizer, le Jour de Chanel preps your skin for Mondays (and any other days) by helping it adapt quickly to whatever you throw at it from smog to working out, stressed out bosses to ridiculously high pollen counts. Jasmine extract not only smells amazing but it also helps keep cell growth on it's optimum schedule which means your skin renews itself quickly. Salicylic Acid helps (gently) exfoliate your skin, helping get rid of dirt and old skin cells.
La Nuit de Chanel, Recharging Skincare, $85
La Nuit is formulated with Frankincense Extract and Hyaluronic Acid to plump and hydrate your skin through the night as you sleep and can be followed with a moisturizer. |
Le Weekend de Chanel, Renewing Skincare, $115
A time out for your skin and our favorite of the Resynchronizing Skincare Trio - Le Weekend is formulated with calming Rose Water and exfoliating Glycolic Acid and is used on the weekends in place of serums and moisturizers. |
Le Weekend de Chanel is quickly becoming the favorite among both old and new lovers of the brand. Just like your hair sometimes needs a break from your normal shampoo and conditioner, Le Weekend is your skin's chance to reset from your normal Skincare routine. Glycolic Acid is one of the best chemical exfoliators out there and removes impurities like pollutants, dead skin cells and dirt making your skin smoother, more even and hydrated while the Rose Water calms and soothes your skin. Used on weekends (or if you have a hectic schedule, any two consecutive days out of the week) both morning and evening in place of any serums and moisturizers. One quick word of caution: the glycolic acid will make your skin more vulnerable to the sun so make sure you follow up with sunscreen!
These three products work incredibly well together - after just two weeks our skin is smoother, more even and more supple. But don't just take our word for it, check out these statistics from Chanel themselves:
Chanel's study that shows results on skin luminosity, plumpness, evenness and smoothness after 8 days, 1 month and 3 months |
If you can afford to invest in all three products, we certainly recommend it but if you can only pick up one, our favorite by far is Le Weekend with its time-out for your skin to have a chance to completely renew itself.
