5 Manicures to Try This Spring

8:56 PM

We LOVE pretty nails!  Like makeup, you can easily switch it up and chances are you already have all the stuff in your nail polish collection to try out some of the manicures that are on trend for Spring 2014.  Everything from creative stripes to new patterns to innovative abstract interpretations - see our favorites below!

Reinvent Your Stripes

Stripes, stripes and more stripes! Fat, skinny, matchy, single, there's something for everyone.  The prettiest stripes were seen on the runways at Tibi (top left), Prabal Gurung (bottom left), Kye (top right), Manish Arora (middle right), Zimmermann (bottom right).

Spring Patterns

We love a good pattern! Our favorite?  This green windowpane from Tracy Reese (top left) with a close runner up from Charlotte Ronson with their black polka-dots on a crisp white background (bottom left).  If you aren't quite ready to give up your ombre nails try a more subtle version  like the pale pinks on the Zac Posen runway (right).

Easter Egg Hues

Dip your nails into some jellybean hues in pinks, greens, blues and purples like see here at Just Cavalli, Gareth Pugh, Custo Barcelona and Fausto Puglisi

Layers

Start with a crisp layer of white (matte or shiny, it's up to you) and then get a little creative - try a single silver band like Cushnie et Ochs or add a little more color like Kate Spade's designers.

Abstract Nail Art

Nail art never goes out of style - get in the tribal spirit like Kenzo's models, create an abstract orchid look like PPQ or try a different design on every other finger like Rebecca Minkoff's deep salmon, blue and white creations.
