First and foremost, let it be known that we love Chanel's makeup. Ladylike while still having an edgy side? It's every girls dream. So when we saw Chanel's Spring 2014 Makeup Collection we were thoroughly pleased: pretty, pale pinks and deep purples with various shades of hot-pink reds mixed in struck the right chord between playful and chic. And if that wasn't enough, Chanel is doing something they've never done before - inviting their loyal customers in for a special spa event complete with mini facial and makeup application in their Spring colors. We were lucky enough to take part in this promotion so read on to see what our must-have products are and how to think outside the box and get the most bang for your buck.
First and foremost, the facial was the highlight of our day. Relaxing while hydrating your face in a major way is always an incredible experience but Chanel takes it to the next level with their luxurious skincare collection. Plus the entire line smells amazing. If you an afford it, it's definitely worth the splurge!
Face
The limited edition Spring 2014 collection has been one of our favorites thus far, but don't forget that Chanel is top of the line when it comes to base products as well. With a range of foundations from minimal second-skin fluid to moderate coverage liquid to mousses, multiple concealer options and silky smooth powders there's something for everyone. Our absolute favorite product was the cream blush for the Spring Collection in Charmade, a beautiful bright pinkish shade of red that goes on sheer, blends exceptionally well and gives you that youthful glowy look. Don't limit it to just your face though, it has the staying power to be used as a lip stain or even an eye shadow if you're feeling bold.
Eyes
Known for exceptional quality eye shadows, liners and mascaras, this collection doesn't disappoint and offers a variety of textures and colors. The classic powder quad gets a Spring facelift in lavender gray, golden ivory and rosy apricot with an intense brown accent while the gel-texture that can be used as either shadow or liner popped up in pale pink and shimmery purple. Ever since coming out with various shades of blue, green and yellow mascaras several seasons ago, we've looked to Chanel to create subtle yet stunning mascaras to give us a grown-up rock 'n roll edge - try the inimitable intense in purple or rouge noir instead black or brown.

Lips
Nude lips are taking a backseat this season, instead opt for look-at-me shades of pink, red, orange or anything inbetween. We're in love with the limited edition full coverage, satin finish rouge allure lipstick in melodieuse, a pretty coralish color or if you already own 50 lipsticks and don't need another (does anyone actually say that?) consider investing in the aqua crayon lip liner stick in raspberry red to update the rest of your lipsticks and glosses.

Our Must-Haves
What an amazing experience! Mini facials, updated makeup application in the new Spring colors and a free gift. We couldn't ask for more...but then there were a few things we couldn't leave without. First and our favorite, the le Blush Creme de Chanel in Charmade (seriously, eyes, face, lips, what doesn't it do?) and the Aqua Crayon lip liner stick in Raspberry Red. Although if we're being honest, were strongly considering going back for the Vitalumiere Aqua foundation, the Rouge Allure lipstick in Melodieuse and the Inimitable Intense mascara in purple. What can we say, we're beauty junkies! Don't miss out on this amazing experience and products, call or stop by your local Chanel counter today!
Our must-have products - the lip liner crayon and the cream blush. We're excited about the free gift as well! |
