Who doesn't love new shoes? We know it's cold right now but we promise the snow will melt soon and the sun will be smiling down, begging for our new pedicures to be put on display. We've rounded up the best trends of Spring 2014 to help you decide which pair to start saving for.

Sandals
Always open-toed but varying in the just about everything else, sandals are a Spring staple. This season look for bright colors and other interesting details like gilded or open-face wedges.
Black strappy wedges at Jill Stuart, pink t-straps at Burberry and gilded wedges at Dolce & Gabbana |
Lady-like, Pointy-Toe Single Soled
Very ladies-who-lunch, these feminine stilettos are an easy way to dress up an outfit and perfect for date night. Look for fun details like t-straps, hardware or cutouts.
Hardware and t-straps at Kate Spade, cutouts at Cushnie et Ochs' and Christian Dior |
Peep-Toe Stacked Heels
Our personal favorite shoe trend of the season these are a holdover from years past that never go out of style. Besides being ridiculously comfortable (usually) and super easy to walk in (always), stacked heels help add that cool factor to an outfit, keeps things young and prevents you from looking overly serious (read: boring). Look for a variety of styles, colors and materials - the sky is the limit!
Lace up color-block at BCBG, ankle straps at Herve Leger, chocolate brown and white platform sandals at Michael Kor's and powder blue booties at Rag and Bone |
Curved-heel wood platforms at Proenza Schouler, 3-strap color-blocked and printed versions at Mulberry, blue stripes at Aquilano, snakeskin and embellished versions at Dries Van Noten |
Flats
A necessary practicality at times (we know walking on cobblestone in heels isn't a whole lot of fun), flats have their place in a girl's wardrobe but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be fashionable. Look for loafers, sneakers (think chic! Not the shoes you run in!), ballet flats and our personal least favorite, the old-lady shower-sandal (sorry, we just can't get behind this unflattering style. #icant).
Metallic loafers at Karen Walker, low-heeled printed flats at Peter Som and chic trainers at Kenzo |
Printed ballerina flats at Alberta Ferretti and our least favorite flat second to crocs (although I'm sure they're comfy) the fancy shower shoe at Marni. |
Bells & Whistles
Embellished, printed, hardware, appliqués, ruffles, pom-poms, futuristic, you name it, we saw it. If you're feeling adventurous, splurge on a pair of these conversation-starters. We bet you won't regret it!
Metallic bows at Delpozo, floral printed lace-ups from Mary Katrantzou |
Prints, hardware and architecture from Alexander McQueen, floral-inspired appliques from No 21 and Zac Posen |
Black ruffles at Emanuel Ungaro, pom-pom mules from Sportmax, Fendi's colorful, futuristic heels |
Mid-Height
Tired of sky-high heels? Spring 2014 saw the return of several lower-heels, everything from kitten to midi so embrace the lower height and less-achy feet and go for a fun pair to keep your look light and young.
Fun, chunky versions from Miu Miu, snakeskin print with bows at Saint Laurent, embellished kitten-heels from Blugirl |
Gladiator-Inspired
Cage styles are still sticking around although this season they're less bondage and more pretty. Look for neutral colors, the style alone speaks for itself.
White knee-highs from Roberto Cavalli, Emilio Pucci's black ankle-height textured version |
