Designer Collaboration
The SJP shoe collection is definitely more Sarah Jessica than Carrie Bradshaw

“I thought about launching my own line for a long time. It just feels like an enormous privilege to be doing it now with George and with Nordstrom, which is really my dream retailer. Hopefully, women will be able to tell from the first collection that I’m inspired and that I’m serious about it. I’m involved every step of the way. I want customers to be delighted with how the shoe is presented, how much care we've taken, the unique color combinations and even the shape of the heel. Ultimately, I’m striving to produce a shoe they haven’t yet seen on the market.”
Don't get us wrong, we are excited about the SJP line finally being available the end of this month but to be completely honest we were a tiny bit underwhelmed by the actual shoes once the pictures started circulating. Admittedly this is our fault, we expected the collection to be something Carrie Bradshaw would have come up with and we forget that Carrie is (gasp!) a character and the collection is Sarah Jessica Parker's collaborative effort. Once you get past that little detail, the collection is actually quite beautiful, even if a tiny bit too lady-like for our varied tastes. At least a third of the collection we adore and they're guaranteed to be high quality, especially for the price point ($195-$495).
We completely adore Carrie Bradshaw...but remember this collection is Sarah Jessica Parker's design and the shoes are more chic than edgy and fun. |
Partnering with Manolo Blanik's CEO George Malkemus, Carrie, uh we mean Sarah, created the 25 shoe line that's available on February 28th exclusively at Nordstrom. We're excited to see the shoes in person and out and about (Instagram those photos ladies!) to get a feel for how they actually stack up against the higher-end designers.
